>make sure to tension the tape before playing it for the first time

The way I had planned it, my first post here would be a fake interview between me, Jacquelinne Susann, and Ninia Baehr, so that I could introduce myself and get my agenda across in an interesting way.

Maybe I'll post it as a joke some day. When I had finished writing it, I let it sit for a day and then read through it, and it was miserable. I tried far too hard to argue for the cassette as the ultimate format, acted almost militant, and generally failed to present a case for why I think this venture is worth a look.

Cassettes aren't for everyone. I consider them to be the best method of musical storage and playback devised by mankind as of yet, but that statement must be contextualized with my musical taste and lifestyle to have any weight. I'm not going to do that right now, unraveling that mess will be part of what I do in the future of this list.

The future. This site, "type ii personality", is an exploration of a fascination with cassette tapes. My goal is for it to be a sort of education/culture list, presented in a conversational style.

I have only a rough idea of what that is going to mean, content-wise, so let me just offer a guarantee: if you like cassettes,

Thanks!
